Here’s a perfect example of why proper mold remediation is crucial. Someone had previously attempted “mold remediation” in the crawlspace and attic. However, they sprayed the wood surfaces with latex paint to seal it instead of an antimicrobial sealant. Instead of keeping mold from growing, it simply covered the mold and provided it with a new food source. This created an even larger problem than there was originally. When it comes to mold, out of sight doesn’t mean it will always stay out of mind, especially when that mold starts to spread!
To solve the new issue, we had to vacuum the area with a HEPA vacuum to trap even the smallest of spores, as well as scrub all of the affected surfaces to remove damage and mold.
